Prestige International Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shinichi Tamagami; hereinafter “PI”) is pleased to announce that it conducted charity fundraising activities to support childhood cancer in recognition of “International Childhood Cancer Day, ” and through this activity, received a certificate of appreciation addressed to each center from the Children's Cancer Association of Japan.

Background of the Fundraising Activities at PI
“International Childhood Cancer Day” is a collaborative campaign to raise awareness of childhood cancer and express support for children and AYA (*) generation cancer patients and their families. This activity at PI was initiated when the child of an employee working at Toyama BPO Town was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor. Driven by the employee's desire to “I let people know about childhood cancer,” the activity, which initially started at a single center, developed into a company-wide initiative under the leadership of PI's Diversity Promotion Project members, and is now in its fifth year. Currently, it has permeated all centers as a regular event and plays a part in our sustainability activities.

Comment from a Diversity Promotion Project Member
“It support for childhood cancer is needed 'now,' not 'someday,' and that continuous action is of the utmost importance. Childhood cancer progresses rapidly, and in many cases, treatment is difficult. I also learned about the harsh reality faced by the patients and their families, such as the lifelong burden of aftereffects even after remission.
Even for challenges that are difficult to be heard through the voices of the patients alone, I believe that by continuously working on them within the larger framework of a company or a community, they can become a louder voice and help encourage the enhancement of research and support systems. During this year's activities, we received comments from employees saying, 'I want to help organize this next year,' and saw many voluntarily offering support on the day of the event. Furthermore, client companies visiting our centers on the day also sympathized with our initiatives and made generous donations.
As a promotion member leading this activity, I feel that everyone's warm sentiments serve as a catalyst to turn our attention to various social issues. I sincerely hope that understanding and support for childhood cancer will continue to expand.”
Future Outlook for the PI Group
The PI Group, which believes that it is important to maintain balance between achieving growth as a business and fulfilling social responsibilities, considers this activity to hold significant meaning in our sustainability efforts. Moving forward, the entire Group will continue to work proactively as one to engage in initiatives that address a wide range of social issues, not just through our business operations.
